We use publicly available feeds and pages of the outlets listed below, and we respect each site’s terms and access rules. We do not bypass paywalls, logins or blocks.
Sources we look at
Zambia: ZNBC, Lusaka Times, News Diggers. International: Reuters, AP, BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, Fox News, Sky News, France 24, DW, Bloomberg TV, CNBC and Africanews.
Limits
- Reuters, AP and Bloomberg content needs a licence for direct use. Until we hold one, we cite their reporting only where another outlet carries it, and we say so.
- When an outlet blocks automated reading, we cannot rely on it alone. A story that depends on a source we could not open is held.
- When we have only a public feed summary of an article, the story says so.
Independence
Sources count as independent only when they have done their own reporting. Copies of the same wire report count as one.
